Dear BCSB members and friends,
Attached please find our BCSB September newsletter, and thanks once again to Sebastian Fraye for making it happen! As usual, he’s filled it with good stuff. Some important highlights:
- Our meeting this month is on Tuesday, September 9th, at 7pm at Bethany Congregational Church, as usual. This is a special meeting in which club members will work on new trees to create the “guardian tree” bonsai that that will eventually be sold at Lotusland or at our May show. Important: Bring your tools! Everyone will work on trees (or watch), and we will ask members to consider taking trees home and being their “guardian” until the tree is ready to sell. If you are a current guardian and have some club trees that need some work, you could also bring those in.
- Our September workshop on September 20th is a beginner workshop. As of this date, I do not have all the confirmations for those who initially signed up, and they have until September 5th to confirm. If you have not yet had a beginner workshop and want one, let me know and I will add you to the waiting list and let you know next week if there is room.
- Diana Boydstun is retiring from her role as club treasurer – the talent, knowledge and dedication she brought to this role will be missed. Thank you, Diana!!!
We are now recruiting for a new treasurer, starting in December — please let me know if you are interested, and I would be most pleased to answer your questions about what the position entails. Diana has also offered to answer any questions and to help the new treasurer transition into the role before 2026.
Looking forward to seeing you next Tuesday!
Gwen
