Greeting BCSB Members,
In lieu of a full newsletter, here are the important announcements for November 2023. We just recruited a new newsletter editor so we should be able to get back on track with regular monthly newsletters starting in December.
November Monthly Meeting (Tuesday 14 November 2023)
The program for the November meeting will feature Ann Erb teaching us all the nuances of pine bonsai care and maintenance. As usual, the meeting will take place at Bethany Congregational Church, 556 North Hope Avenue. 7:00-7:30 is social time and the meeting begins at 7:30. I will not be able to attend due to hand reconstruction surgery. VP Mark is working on getting the gate and doors open on time but has to play Mr. Mom this week so he won’t be able to attend the whole meeting. Luckily for you club members, this means that none of you will need to listen to either of us babble on with announcements.
November Workshop (Saturday 18 November 2023)
As a follow-up to our November monthly meeting, if you are someone who learns better by “doing,” you can “do” all your fall work on pines to your heart’s content in the November workshop on Saturday, 18 November as Ann will have you practicing what she preached in the meeting on the 14th. If you don’t have a pine, bring whatever you have as Ann is an expert on all things bonsai. The workshops will be held at Bethany Congregational Church, 556 North Hope Avenue. There will be a 9 AM – Noon session and a 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM session. With a professional instructor like Ann, we are limited to how many Club members we can accommodate. The workshop fee is $50, payable by cash or check at the event.
