Dear BCSB members and friends,
April and May are very big months for our bonsai club, as we are now preparing for our big show on May 16 and 17. Your BCSB board has already been very busy behind the scenes, planning show logistics. But the show is only successful when we have your participation! In addition to the newsletter, I have attached the form you need to fill out if you are submitting a tree for the show. I’ll have more of these available at our meeting on April 16.
Please be sure to attend our meeting on Thursday, April 16, at 7pm. It will be one of the most interesting meetings of the year, when club members bring the trees they want to enter into our show to select stands and accent plants to complement. We will also have show volunteer sign-ups — we will need all hands on deck to execute this two-day extravaganza. (Plus, it’s a lot of fun.)
We will have a free club workshop on Saturday, April 18 from 9am to 1pm ONLY. This is a good time to prep your tree(s) for the show, or to just work on any of your trees with club members there to assist.
And an exciting announcement: Jonas Duprich will attend our show as a guest demonstrator, and will also provide a club-exclusive critique of the show. His participation takes our show to a whole new level, and we can’t be more excited!
