Dear members and friends,
In this issue of the BCSB newsletter, my president’s letter is all about the upcoming BCSB Bonsai Exhibition in May. I am asking and encouraging all of you to consider submitting a tree (or two!) in the show. The mission of BCSB, among other things, is to promote the art and culture of bonsai, to encourage the practice of bonsai, and provide education about bonsai techniques. What better way to do that than through an exhibition! The quality and success of our show depends on you, so please be ready to bring your trees to the April 8th meeting, where we will select stands and talk about how to get your trees ready for the show. Our April workshop is a club event to prep our trees for the show, and also just work on any trees in your collection that you are training. I always find these club workshops to be so helpful, as our more experienced club members are always so generous with their expertise.
Besides the newsletter, I have attached the form you would need to fill out for your tree submission. We will have some of these at the meeting, as well.
There are other ways you can help with the show — some of that is in my letter, but we will get into more detail at the April 8th meeting. We hope to have some volunteer sign-up sheets, as there is much to do – and much fun to have – to make this show happen.
